HARTWELL - OCHS won both girls and boys matches Tuesday afternoon to give the Warriors a 8-AAA region sweep in tennis. The girls got a key win at 2 doubles to pull out a 3-2 win, while the boys coasted to a 5-0 shutout win over the host Bulldogs.
The Lady Warriors' got on the board early, when Jordan England was awarded a win at #1 singles by way of default, when her opponent was unable to play. Katy Kane then won easily at #2 with a solid outing, 6-0, 6-1. After the Lady Bulldogs won at 3 singles and 1 doubles, all eyes were on #2 doubles, where Macy Bird and Megan Morris delivered, by winning their match 6-2, 6-1 to clinch it for the Lady Warriors.Β Tuesday's win brings the Lady Warriors record even at 6-6 overall, 4-1 in region.
For the men in singles, #1 Drew Horsley breezed 6-0, 6-0, #2 Will McDonald won 6-0, 6-2 and Mitchell Graves accelerated in the second set to win 7-5, 6-0. In doubles, the #1 duo of Dan Madden and Hunter Pritchard wasted little time dismissing their opponents 6-1, 6-0. Zach Miner and Chandler Shields, at #2 doubles, completed the shutout with a pasting of the their Bulldog opponents 6-0, 6-0. The Warriors are now 8-5 on the season overall, 5-0 in region play.

OCHS goes on the road again Wednesday at 4:30 in a non-region matchup at Madison County.
