OCHS Wins Again on Road at Madison County

OCHS Ladies Singles, Boys Doubles Lead Charge for Warrior Sweep

DANIELSVILLE: OCHS tennis went on the road for the second straight day, and picked up a couple of wins in the process for their girls and boys teams. The Lady Warriors got wins at 1 and 2 singles, as well as 2 doubles to edge the Lady Red Raiders 3-2. Meanwhile, the Warrior boys held strong in doubles, with a sweep in both and a win at 2 singles to nudge Madison County 3-2. It was only the second loss for both the Red Raiders girls' and boys' teams this season.

The Lady Warriors once again dominated play at the top two singles spots, as #1 Jordan England, and #2 Katy Kane did not give up a game between them, with twin 6-0, 6-0 wins. Megan Morris and Macy Bird got the OC ladies their clinching point with a win at 2 doubles that was ruled in favor of OCHS when and injured MCHS player was unable to continue. The OCHS ladies record improves to 7-6.

For the Warrior men, Drew Horsley won at 2 singles over Ben Strickland 6-3, 6-3 to secure the Warriors' first point. Number one doubles Dan Madden and Hunter Pritchard won in a very exciting match, 6-1, 7-6 (14-12), and the #2 Doubles combo of Zach Miner and Chandler Shields won going away 7-5, 6-0. In one of the longer and better matches between the two teams, Madison County's number 1 singles Trey Morris outlasted Will McDonald in a mini-marathon three set match, 6-3, 4-6, 6-2. The win moves the Warrior boys team to 9-5 for year.
