Loathing Litter

You can help get rid of this problem.

From the look on Joel's face you can tell what he's thinking.

"WHO DOES THIS?"

Despite the fact that we had a great volunteer turnout for our January just a mere 20 weeks later we found ourselves at it again, picking up litter on Elder Mill Road.

This is without a doubt one of the most beautiful areas in the whole world.  A quaint covered bridge, rolling green pastures, scattered hay bales, a zillion tree's, lovely homes nestled acres away from each other, cattle and deer and horses grazing peacefully...and yet a chosen few are rolling down their windows and unbelievably throwing garbage out of their car.

I can barely type it.  I am just astounded by the thought of doing such a thing.

I'm certain it's none of the Elder Mill residents, but likely passer's through or construction crews.  Every time there is construction nearby, litter increases. However, I am certain some of my neighbor's need to take more care in securing their recycling bins when they set them out for pick-up day.  AND the waste and recycling transport vehicles need to be more diligent about securing what goes inside the trucks and not allow items to blow out.  This is a big nation wide problem.

And here's the real kicker: 99% of what we picked up was 100% recycleable!  Glass, plastic, aluminum and paper.

Litter cost taxpayer dollars, not to mention volunteer hours.  Recycling CREATES JOBS!!

I hope I never catch them doing it because if I do I will likely end up in jail from throwing a public Missy Hissy Fit and taking chase Jason Bourne style.  It won't be pretty.

Ok.  Deep breath.
