Community Update

Oconee County Clerk Jane Greathouse just before noon on Friday added a new item dealing with appointments to the Georgia Bioscience Joint Development Authority to the agenda for Tuesday’s Board of Commissioners meeting.

Earlier last week she added to the agenda a water and sewer project update by Utility Department Director Chris Thomas. Thomas is to review recently completed water and sewer projects, those underway, and future projects.

The Board also is scheduled to take up an amendment to the official zoning maps of the county that will convert back to business five parcels of land in the center of Eastville, a small community at the intersection of Hodges Mill and Malcom Bridge roads in the northwest of the county.

The BOC meeting is scheduled to start at 7 p.m. in the courthouse in Watkinsville.

For more on the story, with a map of the Eastville properties and background on the Bioscience Authority appointments, go to Oconee County Observations.
