The Parks and Recreation Department has an opening for an after-school counselor.

After school counselor

Description: Performs the overall supervision of children enrolled in the after school program in accordance with the purposes and policies of the Oconee County Parks and Recreation Department. This position reports to the Youth Program Coordinator. Click here for the full job description. 

Qualifications: High school diploma or GED; supplemented with a background of experience and/or training in the field of Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Recreation or a related field; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job. Must be at least 18 years of age. Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia Driver's License. Must have current certification in First-Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation or must obtain certification within the first six months of employment. 

How to apply: Submit an application and an Authorization to Release Information on Driving History form from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday at the Oconee County Board of Commissioners' Human Resources Office at 23 N. Main St. (Oconee County Courthouse), Room 203.  Applications may be downloaded online.
