Walton EMC Kids' Event and 5K to Help Those in Need

Walton EMC employees are hosting a children's event, fun run and 5K on Dec. 8 at their Monroe office to benefit families who are experiencing difficult times this holiday season.

Join the employees of Walton EMC on December 8 for a fun-packed day of activites to benefit those experiencing hard times this holiday season.

Winterfest begins at 10 a.m. and includes all these activities for your children:

  • Photo with Santa -- You'll recieve one 5X7 and four wallet-sized photos of your child with Santa!
  • Make your own Christmas card
  • Coloring contest -- color our winter scene. Best in each age division wins a prize.
  • Face painting
  • Crazy hair -- our stylists will give kids a wild 'do.
  • Hayrides --  hop on our wagon pulled by an antique tractor for a nice wintertime ride.
  • Letters to Santa -- write your list for Santa and we'll get it to the North Pole.
  • Decorate your own holiday cookie
  • S'mores -- Cozy up to the campfire, roast a marshmellow and squish it between graham crackers and chocolate.
  • Inflatables
  • Popcorn Wagon
  • Characters -- including Digger Dog and the Chick-fil-A cow.

All these activites are just $15 per child. Bring a new, unwrapped toy and receive a $5 discount.

Fun Run begins at 1:30 p.m. followed by the 5K at 2 p.m.

The route covers scenic backroads and offers awards in several divisions:

  • First overall male
  • First overall female
  • Master runners
  • Top three finishers in each age division: 10 and under, 11-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70 and above


All runners pre-registered by Nov. 27 are guaranteed a race T-shirt. Download the registration form here (PDF).
