Community Corner

Georgia Grown Block Party with Community Cuisine at Heirloom Café Sunday, May 18 as part of the Edible Agriculture Tour

Following a decadent dinner at St. Cecilia in Buckhead, the Edible Agriculture Tour (EAT GA) – presented by Taste of Atlanta and the Georgia Restaurant Association – is heading to Athens! The statewide program, which hosts dining events that feature the best local, seasonal produce prepared by Georgia’s top chefs, is set to serve farm-fresh, community cuisine at Heirloom Café – block party style! On Sunday, May 18, Athens-area food lovers are invited to celebrate local farmers and enjoy Georgia Grown offerings from favorite neighborhood chefs. Participating chefs include Heirloom Café & Fresh Market Executive Chef Sal Speights, The Branded Butcher Executive Chef Matthew Palmerlee, Epting Events Chef de Cuisine Brittany Gunter, Last Resort Grill’s Kyle English and Frozen Pints’ Aly Moler. A portion of the proceeds from the Edible Agriculture Tour will be donated to the Food Bank of Northeast Georgia, a non-profit organization dedicated to ending hunger in Northeast Georgia and raising community awareness and action concerning hunger and poverty. Don’t miss out on this charitable and tasty event!
