Sponsor a Mom-less Pet for Mother's Day

Mother’s Day is just around the corner, and we all look for meaningful gifts to get our moms (or surrogate moms) on this special day to let them know how much they mean to us. Flowers and candy are always nice, but how about something even more meaningful to accompany them this year?  Most of us will get to spend this Mother’s Day with our moms or someone special, but our adoptable pets may not find homes before then to give loving purrs and wags to their families—but you can show them love by sponsoring a pet in your mom’s name for Mother’s Day, and in return, you’ll get a certificate to present with those flowers and candy this year.

At the Athens Area Humane Society, we offer Animal Friend sponsorships at the Adoption Center for $25 or more which helps lower a sponsored animal’s adoption fee, thereby increasing its odds for finding a home sooner. Potential adopters will see how special the animal is for someone to choose them as an Animal Friend, and it’ll also make the adoption fee more affordable. The Animal Friend sponsorship also helps to cover some of the costs to take care of the animal while waiting for a new home. The adoptable animals at AAHS may not have the luxury of spending Mother’s Day with its human family yet, so by sponsoring one of them, you can show your love while they wait for their forever homes. And I bet your mom or special someone would love to know that you helped a furry friend in her name this year!
