Duracell's "Power Those Who Protect Us" Thank-You Event

As part of the company’s Power Those Who Protect Us donation program, Duracell is hosting a family-themed event to thank local volunteer firefighters in Oconee County.  The public is encouraged to come out to the Chick-fil-A on Epps Bridge Parkway to meet local firefighters as they collect money for their annual “Give Burns the Boot” boot drive to benefit the Georgia Firefighters Burn Foundation.  This is an opportunity to join Duracell in thanking local volunteer firefighters.  A face painter and balloon artist will be on hand to entertain children, as well as the Chick-fil-A Cow.  WNGC-FM will also be on premises with fun games and prizes.   During this event, a $2500 donation from Duracell will be presented to the boot drive as another way to thank these men and women for their courage and dedication.

Power Those Who Protect Us is a donation program created by the National Volunteer Fire Council (NVFC) and Duracell, that aims to recognize the courageous efforts and tireless contributions volunteer firefighters make to their communities each and every day.  This program will help equip the nation’s volunteer fire force, which makes up nearly three-quarters of our nation’s fire departments, with supplies they need to help power their everyday tools and life-saving devices.  Duracell will donate one battery for every specially-marked pack of AA and AAA batteries purchased.  Donations can be localized online for those who want to support their own community volunteers by visiting Facebook.com/Duracell or Duracell.com/protect.
