This year’s program will include a special
concert by local country recording artist John Berry
entitled God, Family and Country.  The
program will also incorporate the traditional Memorial Day “Calling the Role”
for all Oconee County citizens that were killed in action from WWI to Operation
Enduring Freedom, the presentation of the Memorial Wreath and concluding with
Taps.  Individuals and veterans groups
are encouraged to present a memorial wreath during the event.

The foundation continues to promote
participation in the Wall of Honor campaign where Veterans with a connection to
Oconee County can have their names placed on the wall as an everlasting
presentation of their service.  All
proceeds from the Wall of Honor campaign will offset construction of the wall
itself and the presentation of the 39 Killed in Action names from Oconee
County.  Additional sponsorships are
available.  The Foundation will break
ground on the Wall of Honor on July 4th and plans to dedicate the
wall during the Veterans Day Program on November 11th, 2014.  Wall of Honor nomination forms can be
downloaded from the foundation website at http://www.oconeeveteransmemorial.com/
