Meet the Author: Bowen Craig

Local Athens author Bowen Craig will be at the Oconee County Library in Watkinsville to talk about his latest novel, A Look to the Future Through the Eyes of an Eighty Year Old Pirate. Talking pancreases, fake superhero trials, God-like insurance salesmen, teenaged congressgirls, bovine genealogists, sausage lore, the forgotten history of the American canine electorate, and gynecological street gangs all guest star in this ode to the vortex of weird that we call twenty-first century America. Bowen Craig, author of Keeping Away From the Joneses, explores the stranger aspects of modern life through the lens of an aging pirate.Bowen Craig is the author of two books, Keeping Away from the Joneses and A Look to the Future through the Eyes of an Eighty Year Old Pirate. Craig handles comedy and satire with the utmost dexterity, taking cues from his southern roots, nights at the bar, American cultural missteps, classic sci-fi and even his mother. He is the co-founder of Bilbo Books publishing, a print-on-demand company specializing in memoirs and children’s books. Local Athens-area readers enjoy his wacky weekly online blog on The Patch.
Mr. Craig will also discuss his soon-to-be released novel, Hitchhiking with Salmon.
A book signing will follow the discussion, and light refreshments will be served. Sponsored by the Library Friends of Oconee County.
