9:47 p.m.: Only 19 Walton EMC members in Oconee were without electric service.

9:30 p.m.: Statewide, 55,000 Georgia Power customers were still without power.

5:14 p.m.: Walton EMC has restored power to all but 143 members in Oconee.

4 p.m.: 324 Oconee County Walton EMC members are still experiencing outages.

3:30 p.m.: Georgia Power restored service to over 400,000 customers.  87,000 are without power.

12:50 p.m. 475 Oconee County Walton EMC members remain without power.  Spokesperson Greg Brooks said earlier that crews were doing their best to restore electricity.

Noon: Georgia Power said they had restored power to more than 300,000. There  were still 108,000 customers out statewide .

10:48 a.m.: Watkinsville Police Chief Lee O'Dillon said some big tree limbs and debris came down during the storms, but no major damage was reported within the city limits. "We fared pretty well," he said.

10:01 a.m.:  Greg Brooks, communications representative for Walton EMC, said there are widely scattered outages and trees on power lines.  Some isolated areas may not have power restored until tonight.  He reported that there are 15 broken poles system wide that take time to repair. There are currently 452 outages in Oconee County  and 6 in Clarke.

9:20 a.m. Georgia Power: Approximately 3,800 customers out in Madison, Union Point and Mansfield. 180 without power in Athens.

9:13 a.m.: There are 104 Georgia Power customers in Clarke without service and 55 in Oconee.

9 a.m.: 143,000 Georgia Power customers remain out of power statewide.  434 Oconee County Walton EMC customers without power.  Only 27 Walton EMC customers without power in Clarke.

8:30 a.m.: Georgia Power does not have restoration times yet, but will pass on the information when the company knows more.  There were 154,000 customers without power as of 8 a.m. statewide.

8:15 a.m.: Walton EMC provides an up-to-date map of current outages.  Watkinsville has 499 meters out. In total, 650 are affected by outages in Oconee County. 1330 members are affected in Clarke County.

7:57 a.m.: Power is out in various parts of Athens-Clarke county, the ACCPD reported, adding that a large area of Georgia affected.

7:46 a.m.: Athens-Clarke County Police said traffic lights were out in various areas of Athens at this time, and there was an unknown restoration time.  Citizens should please drive carefully, authorities said. 

7:40 a.m.: said Elder Mill Road was blocked by a downed tree near the bridge.

Around 7 a.m.:  Oconee County Sheriff's Office reported road closures at Antioch Church between Hwy 15 and Cisco and Salem Road at the Green County line.
