Ways to Celebrate Halloween 2012 Around Oconee County

Make plans now to attend events in Watkinsville, Bogart, and neighboring Athens this Oct. 31st.

Looking for events happening on Halloween in or around Oconee County, Ga? Here's a roundup of activities:

Halloween Party for Senior Citizens

Where and What Time: Oconee County Senior Center. Wednesday, Oct. 31 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

What: A costume party and contest for seniors that will include food and games.

Cost: Free

Where and What Time: Downtown Watkinsville. Wednesday, Oct. 31 from 4-6 p.m.

What: Trick-Or-Treat on the Street in downtown Watkinsville, sponsored by the Watkinsville Trade and Tourism Department. All little princesses, super heroes, ghosts, witches and assorted goblins are invited as long as they remember to bring their parents.  The majority of the City’s downtown merchants will be handing out treats--- because no one wants to be tricked!

Cost: Free

 

Where and When: Main Street in Bogart.  Wednesday, Oct. 31 starting at 6 p.m.

What: Decorate your car trunk and bring your kids dressed in their favorite costumes for a fun alternative to door-to-door trick or treating. There will also be a number of games and prizes. The event is sponsored by the Bogart Junior Women's Club and the Friends of the Bogart Library.

Cost: Free

 

Trick-or-Treat at Georgia Square Mall

Where and What Time: Georgia Square Mall on Atlanta Highway. Wednesday, Oct. 31 from 5-7 p.m. 

What: Treats will be given out by participating shops.

Cost: Free

 

Trunk-or-Treat at Rocksprings Community Center

Where and What Time: Baxter Street Police Substation.  Wednesday, Oct. 31, from 5-6 p.m.

What: Children should be dressed in costumes to participate.

Cost: Free

 

Candy Land (After Halloween)


Where and What Time:
Oconee County Library. Thursday, Nov. 1, starting at 4 p.m.

What: Have a HUGE stash of Halloween candy? Bring it to the library and we'll do cool candy projects with your goodies. Grades K-5.

Cost: You bring the candy, we'll provide the fun!
