Veterans Day Benefit Planned for Local Marine

Bunco for Boucher will raise money for Purple Heart recipient Lance Cpl. Michael Boucher.

Bunco for Boucher, a fundraiser planned for Veterans Day, will benefit a local hero.

June 12 while on his second tour of duty in Afghanistan. He is currently recovering at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland.

The to raise money for Michael and his family through various benefits, and the GFWC/Four Corners Woman’s Club is now doing its part to help by organizing the Bunco for Boucher event, according to a news release.

Money raised from the event will be given to the family to help with travel expenses so they can visit Michael and to help renovate their Oconee County home to fit his needs.

Bunco for Boucher will be held in the Community Center of from 7-9 p.m on Friday, Nov. 11.

The cost to play is $20 per person or $40 a couple, and if you are new to the game --don't worry!  Organizers say it can be learned in a matter of minutes.

"There will be snacks, door prizes and fun for everyone as our community gathers together to honor all veterans and raise money for an Oconee County soldier’s family," the news release stated.
