Rescued Hunter Recounts Time Spent Lost in Woods

The Athens Banner-Herald reports 72-year-old Don Truluck of Watkinsville was found by his twin brother after having been lost for four days in the woods of Oglethorpe County.

Don Truluck, the 72-year-old Watkinsville hunter who was rescued last Sunday from the woods of Oglethorpe County, was first spotted by his twin brother, the Athens Banner-Herald reports.

Truluck got lost near a deer camp on Oct. 3. He told the newspaper he became disoriented and then dehydrated because of the heat.

Rescuers sprang into action Oct. 5 when they learned Truluck was missing. As a group of volunteers was preparing to comb the woods again last Sunday, Truluck's twin brother Dan made another pass and spotted Don lying in the brush, according to the ABH article.
