Regional Roundup: Vandals Attack Police Precinct, Drunk Woman Visits Inmate and Police Seeking Sexual Battery Victims

Atlanta police are looking for a group of vandals who threw bricks through several windows of the Zone 6 mini-precinct in Little Five Points early Thursday.

Police were responding to a call about shots being fired near Moreland and Euclid avenues just before 4 a.m.

But when they arrived, they discovered the noise stemmed from several windowpanes being shattered at the mini-precinct at 1166 Euclid.

The mini-precinct is not staffed 24 hours.

– Cartersville Patch

A woman who registered more than two times the legal limit and admitted to driving herself to the  found herself behind bars Wednesday following video visitation with an inmate.

Deputies about 9 p.m. noticed 53-year-old Kimberly Dea Collins of Cartersville due to her behavior, but it was what they heard that led to testing and booking, according to the  report.

Collins allegedly admitted to a female inmate that she had been drinking and a jail officer said she overheard it via the jail's audio-video surveillance system. A second deputy said Collins was incoherent, smelled of alcohol and admitted to drinking and driving. Deputies administered a breath test, and Collins registered .175.

 

– Canton-Sixes Patch

A 55-year-old Canton man was arrested this week in connection with two incidents of sexual battery, and the  is looking for more victims.

In both cases, John Deeyaa allegedly motioned to hug women, then groped them against their will. 

"Deeyaa pulled (the victim) into his body as if to hug her and then touched her breast and butt," said Sgt. Stacy Bailey, spokeswoman for the police department.
