A Georgia HERO driver on patrol on GA 400 northbound spotted what she thought might be a stranded motorist at the Kimball Bridge Road overpass at 6:45 p.m. on Wednesday. But what she discovered when she stopped to offer help was a man who had died of an apparent gunshot wound.

FoxTale Book Shoppe on Tuesday was taken over by more than 350 people on Tuesday who braved the cold weather to see Buddy Valastro.

Valastro and his family business, Carlo's Bake Shop, have become a worldwide phenomenon due to the popularity of TLC's Cake BossKitchen Boss and Next Great Baker.

Valastro signed copies of his new book, "Cooking Italian with the Cake Boss, Family Favorites as Only Buddy Can Serve Them Up," and posed for photos with hundreds of residents.

Local Band to Give Preview of Upcoming Rose Parade Performance - East Cobb Patch

The Lassiter High School marching band will have a Tournament of Roses Parade send-off concert Thursday in the school gymnasium.

The concert, which starts at 7:30 p.m., will feature music the band will play in the New Year's Day parade on the streets of Pasadena, Calif.

The concert is open to the public and is free of charge. Lassiter is located at 2601 Shallowford Road, just north of Sandy Plains Road.
