"Local 7" Burglary Leaves Bloody Mess - Tucker Patch

Burglars broke into Main Street's "Local No. 7" restaurant in the middle of the evening on Nov. 12 and got away with little more than a wide screen television set. The thieves in this case left a messy trail of blood in their wake.

A police report states that the suspects gained entrance to the restaurant by smashing the glass in a side door with a large rock. Once inside, they knocked over a stack of beer bottles and ripped a television set off the wall, creating a large hole.

Officials believe a fireplace sparked a blaze that left a family, two residents and two cats, unharmed, according to a press statement.

Crews arrived to find flames showing from the back of a single-story wood frame house. Firefighters located a fire burning on the back wall in the living room area.

According to the press release, officials said the "fire appears to have originated from the fireplace and spread to the exterior wall via the fire box and chimney chase. The couple reportedly had a fire burning in the fireplace for warmth earlier in the evening."
