Regional Roundup: $7 Million in Drugs and Cash Seized in Raid, Police Officer Struck by Car and Woman Charged With Concealing Death

U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration agents arrested three men at a drug stash house at 4041 Megan Road in unincorporated Duluth Tuesday in a raid that netted 39 kilograms (86 pounds) of heroin with a street value of $5 million and two kilos (4.4 pounds) of methamphetamine or “crystal ice” with a street value of $132,000.

The residence was being used by Mexican drug cartel operatives to hide money and drugs for a drug trafficking organization operating out of Fulton County.

A  officer was seriously injured Thursday afternoon when he was hit by a car.

Officer James McClure, 26, was working at the scene of a four-car accident on the Canton Road Connector near the Church Street extension when he stepped into the roadway to stop traffic and was hit by a vehicle.

A Hinesville woman charged with concealing the death of her baby is out of jail after posting bond.

Investigation into the death began July 24, when police were dispatched to a home in Midway, . 

The mother of the child, Danielle Johnson, said the infant died shortly after birth.
