Roadway Construction Project on Track for End of Year Completion
The project involving Jennings Mill Parkway, Epps Bridge Parkway, and the Oconee Connector should be finished by the end of the year as expected, officials say.
Wet roads are all that are standing in the way of completion of a road construction project that loops from the Oconee Connector back to Epps Bridge Parkway at Jennings Mill Parkway, officials say.
The $13.5 million project will provide an entranceway to a proposed $76 million shopping center to be built between and SR Loop 10, according to an Oconee County Observations report.
Part of the project has involved of Jennings Mill Parkway at its intersection with Epps Bridge Parkway five to six feet to make it level.

At times there have been traffic delays, intermittent lane closures and some detours around entrances to businesses in the area.
"Late last week (the Georgia Department of Transportation) indicated that they would try to open the roads on the 24th, but that has since been changed," Oconee County Public Works Director Emil Beshara wrote in an email to Patch on Tuesday. "They still plan on having the roads open by 12/31, but the rain that is coming in is going to push back the planned Saturday opening."
