Open on Turkey Day

There are plenty of local options for dining out this Thanksgiving.

So, you burned the turkey? There's no need to cry or heat up a TV dinner in the microwave. Grab the family and head on out to any one these local eateries for your Thanksgiving meal. The best part is that you won't even have to clear the table when you're done!

Foundry Park Inn is hosting a Thanksgiving Brunch with a menu prepared by Chef Martin Smetana. The dining room will offer a grits station, pankcake station, two salad stations, a carving station, a pasta station, a buffet with all the traditional sides, and a dessert station. I heard their ad on the radio and almost wanted to cancel going over to my Mother-in-law's house for our Thanksgiving feast just to eat at this decadant buffet. The price is $23.95 per person, $12.00 for children under 12, and free for children under the age of 5. The buffet is open from 11:30 am until 2:30 pm. Reservations are all filled but they are prepared to seat walk-ins.

The Red Fearn Grill, located inside the Holiday Inn in Athens, offers a Thanksgiving feast that has become an Athens tradition for many local families. They will present a huge spread that includes their usual buffet but will also offer a salad bar, cocktail shrimp bar, two carving stations, a buffet filled with the traditional sides, and a yummy dessert area. The price is $22.95 per person and that includes a beverage. The dining room is open from 11:30 am until 3:00 pm. Reservations are currently full but they will take walk-ins as well. Just be prepared to wait to be seated for about 30 minutes--it will be worth the wait.

Mama's Boy will be open on Thanksgiving and serving up their usual Southern Fun Dining with their regular brunch menu, but plan to have a few surprise dishes pop up in honor of Turkey day. Doors will open bright and early at 8:00 am and will close for the day at 1:00 pm.

Picadilly inside the Georgia Square Mall will be serving up special holiday inspired food as well. They will offer their usual fair as well as sliced ham, moist turkey, and all the fixin' down the line. Thanksgiving hours are 11:00 am until 3:00 pm. The price is $9.99 and includes a drink and dessert.
