UPDATE: Oconee Under Tornado WARNING

Oconee is under a tornado warning until 5:30 p.m.

Tornado WARNING for Oconee, eastern Clarke and northwestern Oglethorpe through 5:30 p.m.

The National Weather Service's Doppler radar indicated severe thunderstorms capable of producing tornadoes near Watkinsville at 4:42 p.m. Storms were moving at 30 mph northeast, according to the watch.

Oconee is one of 87 Georgia counties under a tornado watch through 11 p.m. Monday.

Meantime the area also remains under a flash flood watch until Tuesday morning, according to the National Weather Service.
