Oconee Today -- Sept. 30

The UGA Wind Ensemble, a corn maze, sculpture, and FOOTBALL are a few of the things to know about today!

Weather: Mostly sunny skies close the work week.  High temperatures will be in the mid to upper 70s, according to the National Weather Service forecast.

Top Things to Know About:

  • The public is invited to a free Concert on the Lawn where the UGA Wind Ensemble will perform pops selections, light classics, patriotic numbers and marches.  The concert takes place on the North Campus Quad at 12:30 p.m. Bring sack lunches and blankets for a picnic with the family.
  • The officially gets underway at 3 p.m. Activities include a corn maze, hayrides, jumping pillow and many others.  
  • will be on display at through Oct. 31. The opening reception from 6-8 p.m. is free and light refreshments will be provided.

  • celebrates Homecoming as the Warriors play host to Monroe Area at 7:30 p.m. 
  • The varsity football team travels to George Walton Academy for a 7:30 p.m. game. Athens Academy students will be webcasting the action starting at 7:15 p.m. Visit www.athensacademy.org.
  • plays Jefferson in a 7:30 p.m. away game.
