Another warm sunny day is in the forecast for the first day of the Jewish holiday Rosh HaShanah.

Weather: Another sunny day with highs in the mid 80s is in the forecast. There's a 20 percent chance of rain showers after noon.

Top Things to Know About:

  • Volunteer to work for the Oconee Food Bank from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Other work days will be on Oct. 12 and Oct. 26. Food donations are also needed.
  • The Jewish holiday Rosh HaShanah, marking the beginning of the Jewish new year, begins at sunset and is celebrated over two days.
  • An American Red Cross blood drive takes place at UGA's Reed Hall from 2-7 p.m.
  • Teens will enjoy , where attendees will read through a script and use props to make the story come to life, at the Oconee County Library.Β  The free event begins at 6 p.m. and will conclude with a craft project related to the play.Β
