Oconee Today -- Sept. 19

Blood drives, a volunteer fair, and government meetings are a few of the things to know about today.

Weather: Plan on cloudy skies with a high near 80 degrees for Monday.  There's a 20 percent chance of showers, mainly in the afternoon, according to the National Weather Service.

Top Things to Know About:

  1. Blood drives take place in both the UGA Pharmacy South (9 a.m.- 2 p.m.) and Poultry Science (10 a.m.- 3 p.m.) buildings. 
  2. Interested in local volunteer opportunities? Come to the Athens Volunteer Fair from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. and 5-7 p.m. in the Tate Student Center to learn more about serving in the northeast Georgia area. Parking for the event is free.
  3. Members of the who serve Oconee County Schools directing traffic will be recognized at a meeting of the Oconee County School Board at 4:30 p.m.  See the full agenda.
  4. The Oconee County Planning Commission meets at 7 p.m. On the agenda is a downzone request for a subdivison along the Apalachee River.  See Lee Becker's for more information.
