Winter registration begins for Oconee County Parks and Recreation activities.

Weather: Plenty of sunshine is in Monday's forecast.  Highs will be in the low to mid 70s. Overnight lows will drop into the upper 40s, the National Weather Service predicts.

Top Things to Know About:

  • Winter registration gets under way today at the Oconee County Parks and Recreation Department. Slots will be open for youth basketball, yoga, and other activities. Download a registration form online.
  • Take a free Tree Identification Class from 4-6 p.m. in Oconee Forest Park.  The class is offered by UGA's Warnell School of Forestry and Natural Resources. Contact Dan Williams at 706-433-3510 for more information.
  • A work session of the Oconee County Board of Education is slated for 4:30 p.m. According to the agenda, Bill Sampson, GSBA Superintendent Search Consultant, will give a presentation. Last month, Superintendent John Jackson announced
  • Bogart council meets at 7 p.m.  It is city's regular monthly meeting.
