The first-ever Nationwide Test of the Emergency Alert System will be carried out today.

Weather: Mostly sunshine is expected throughout the day.  Highs will reach into the low 70s.   There's a chance of evening showers with overnight lows in the upper 40s.

  • Don't get caught off guard! The U.S. Department of Homeland Security will conduct the first nationwide test of the Emergency Alert System at 2 p.m. It will be transmitted via television and radio stations, noting that it is only a test. .
  • The City of Watkinsville holds a monthly meeting at 7 p.m. in the Watkinsville Community Center.
  • pays a visit to Athens Academy to give a presentation.  The program, which begins at 7:30 p.m., is free and open to all.
