Oconee Today -- Nov. 4

Today is the final day to vote in advance of Election Day, Nov. 8.

Weather: Wind gusts of up to 30 mph are possible today.  The National Weather Service predicts sunny skies and highs in the low to mid 60s.

Top things to know:

  • It's the final day to vote in advance of Tuesday's Election Day. 
  • The deadline to submit an entry for the Watkinsville Christmas Parade on Dec. 3 is today.  According to The Oconee Enterprise, a registration form can be found on page 13 of this week's edition.  There is no cost to participate, but space is limited.
  • A Thanksgiving-themed is planned for 6 p.m. There will be food, hayrides, and other activities for children. 
  • The streets of downtown Athens will be lively at 6 p.m. for the annual UGA Homecoming Parade. Two-time All-American Charlie Trippi, who played Georgia football in the mid-1940s, will serve as the grand marshal, according to a news release.

  • heads to Banks County for a 7:30 p.m. game.
  • host Franklin County at 7:30 p.m.
  • travels to Riverside Military for a 7:30 p.m. game.
