Oconee Today -- March 5

Heavy rain today and overnight. Read about this and other information you should know about Oconee today.

1. Rain, rain, and more rain today, the National Weather Service in Peachtree City forecasts.  This evening, between 2 and 3 inches of rain is possible heading into Sunday.  A Hydrologic Outlook  warns that creeks and streams may rise rapidly. 

2. It may not be the best weather for outside activities today, but it is the second day of the at Piccadilly Farms.  The roses are in full bloom and many are available for purchase.  Admission to the festival is free.

3. Take your pets for a special blessing this morning at at 10:30 a.m.  Everyone in the community is welcome, but all pets, except birds and fish, should be on leashes.

4. An inside event at the State Botanical Garden of Georgia in Athens offers a learning experience for the entire family.  begins at 10 a.m.and boasts hands-on activities in the Visitor Center Great Room.  Tickets are $5 per person or $20 per family and children under 2 may participate for free.
