Weather: Another round of showers and thunderstorms is expected for the morning. The National Weather Service predicts gusty winds of up to 20 mph and new rainfall between a quarter and half of an inch.

Top things to know:

  • If you've ever wanted to learn more about foster care and adoption, considering attending a free seminar at at The Body Shop in Athens from 10 a.m.
  • UGA's 24-hour Dance Marathon kicks off at 10 a.m. The event benefits the Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta.  Tickets will be available at the door of Tate Grand Ballroom for $10 each.
  • On Saturdays, the chefs of Chateau Elan in Braselton at 12 p.m. and 3 p.m. present culinary demonstrations. Tickets are $25 and must be purchsed the day of at the Wine Market.
  • "Handmade for the Hungry" at Good Dirt in Athens raises money for the Food Bank of Northeast Georgia from 12-3 p.m. .
