What do a yard sale, Japanese culture, and free dance classes have in common? They are all things to know about in and around Oconee today!

1. The work week comes to a close with a 30 percent chance of isolated thunderstoms.  High temperatures will be in the upper 80s, the Weather Channel predicts. The best chance of rain will come after 3 p.m.

2. A Bishop family is holding a yard sale from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. and again on Saturday starting at 8 a.m.  An event listing states there is plenty of Oconee County High School boys clothing for sale.  For the address and other details, click . You, too, can let your neighbors know about an upcoming yard sale or garage sale by posting an event (it's free!).

3. For a twist on the traditional Storytime, head on over to the at 5 p.m. Members of the University of Georgia's Japan Club will teach children about culture through literacy-based activities.

4. in Athens is offering free classes for girls ages 6-12 starting at 5 p.m. Try Friday Fun Hip Hop or Theater Style Sing and Dance.  Boys and girls are invited to Karate for Beginners.  For a complete schedule, see the company's website.
