Oconee Today -- June 23

Blood pressure checks for seniors, jewelry making, and blueberry picking are a few of the things to know about today.

1. Thunderstorms have cooled temperatures a bit and highs will be in the mid 80s today.  There is a 50 percent chance thunderstorms, according to the National Weather Service.

2. Have you had your blood pressure checked lately?  Free checks will be given to senior citizens at the this morning. Stay and enjoy a game of bridge, which is played on Thursdays.

3. Children are invited to make a 'blinged-out bracelet' during a free play day  at .  There will be two sessions for children to make their own sparkly jewelry.  The first begins at 10:30 a.m. and the second session will be at 6:30 p.m.

4. Blueberries are ripe for the picking at .  The farm will be open from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. as long as weather permits.

5. Sketch away at the Georgia Museum's Drawing in the Galleries. From 5 p.m. until 8 p.m visitors are invited to sketch on their own with pencils or colored pencils.
