Oconee Today -- June 11

Scattered showers are possible this weekend. See what else there is to know about in and around Oconee today.

1. The weekend forecast calls for a 30 percent chance of scattered showers and highs in the mid 90s. Overnight lows will be in the mid to upper 60s.

2. Head on over to a at 1120 Paul Ridge in Watkinsville from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. to pick up some deals.  Everything from housewares to computers to clothes and toys are priced to go.  Are you having a yard sale or garage sale soon?  Post a free event to let everyone know.

3. Local vendors sell fresh produce and natural and handmade products at the every Saturday through October from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the back lawn of Eagle Tavern.

4. Children ages 6-10 may enjoy learning about pollinators at the State Botanical Garden Visitor Center for "Pollinator Madness." The two-hour program starts at 9:30 a.m. in Classroom 1. The cost is $10-12 per participant.

5. Come learn the ancient Japanese art of paper folding at the class at 3 p.m. It is free, but registration is required.  Call ahead to see if spots are still available.
