A ribbon cutting and Flying Debris Show are a few of the things to know about today.

Weather: High temperatures will be in the upper 80s and there's a 30 percent chance of scattered thunderstorms, according to the Weather Channel.

Top Things to Know About Today:

  • Every Tuesday the Rotary Club of Oconee County meets at 7 a.m. in the Watkinsville Community Center for a continental breakfast and presentation. Today's guest speaker is Monte Stephens of the Oconee County Extension Office. Guests are welcome to attend at a cost of $5 per person.
  • A ribbon cutting will be held for Athens Oconee Audiology at 10 a.m., one of Oconee County Chamber of Commerce's newest members.  The business is located at 1610 Mars Hill Road Suite A. 
  • As a reward for kids who participated in the summer reading program at Oconee County Library, they are invited to a at 10:30 a.m.  Children must show their reading log at the door in order to attend.
