Oconee Today -- July 1

1. Plenty of sunshine is in today's Weather Channel forecast, with high temperatures in the mid 90s. 

2. All are invited to Friends First Friday: Flea Market Finds in the Visitor Center of the State Botanical Garden for breakfast and a program led by a staffer.  Cost is $10 for members and $12 for non-members.

3. The Georgia Department of Transportation this morning at 5 until 5 a.m. Tuesday, July 5 to help ease traffic troubles for those traveling around Georgia over the holiday.

4. Though you won't see lane closures this weekend, you'll likely notice an increase in Georgia State Patrol troopers out on the roadways.  The GSP is and planning safety checks.

5. The theme for this month's is Independence Day.  Hear patriotic tunes from the Classic City Band and enjoy activities for the whole family from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m in downtown Watkinsville.
