A ribbon cutting, book signing, and work session of the Board of Commissioners are a few of the things to know about in and around Oconee today.

Weather: Temperatures continue to climb and should reach a high of 68 degrees, according to the National Weather Service. Expect plenty of sunshine and east winds between 5 and 10 mph.

Top things to know:

  • The Oconee County Chamber of Commerce holds a ribbon cutting for Oconee SpeedFit, located at 1260 Greensboro Highway.  It begins at 10 a.m. 
  • A blood drive takes place from 12-5 p.m. inside the Science Library on the UGA campus.
  • Watkinsville author travels to winder for a "A Ring, a Dance, a Second Chance." The event starts at 7 p.m. at Constance Manor, 70 Church Street in Winder.
  • Once again, enabling legislation appears on the agenda for a meeting of the Oconee County Board of Commissioners.  A work session is scheduled for 7 p.m. in the Courthouse.  The complete draft of the agenda is attached as a pdf.
