Oconee Today -- Dec. 1

Are we really in the 12th month of the year? Time sure flies! There are multiple events to celebrate the season today including a holiday open house, Downtown Parade of Lights, and holiday concert.

Weather: Sunshine and a high temperature near 60 degrees are in today's National Weather Service forecast. Overnight, plan on lows in the low 30s and clear skies.

Top things to know:

  • All members of the Oconee County Chamber of Commerce are invited to a holiday open house in the Chamber office from 3:30-5 p.m. Drop by for some holiday cheer!
  • The annual Downtown Parade of Lights rolls through Athens starting at 7 p.m.  The theme this year is "Winter Wonderland."
  • Holiday festivities continue at UGA's Holiday Concert.  There will be performances by the UGA Symphony Orchestra, the UGA Hodgson Singers and the University Chorus.  It starts at 8 p.m. in the Hodgson Concert Hall. Tickets are $25.
