Road work, blood drives, and a volunteer fair are a few of the things to know about in and around Oconee today.

Weather: Sunny skies are in the forecast with high temperatures in the low 90s. Look for clear skies and lows in the mid to upper 60s overnight.

Top Things to Know About:

  • The Oconee County Road Department will begin prep work today for a paving project on Woodridge Lane.  For more, see the announcement
  • The American Red Cross sponsors two blood drives at UGA facilities. Donate blood from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Ramsey Student Center for Physical Activities or the lobby of Creswell Hall from 1-7 p.m. 
  • Gainesville State College hosts the 2011 Volunteer Fair from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the lobby of the Continuing Education Building on the Gainesville Campus​. Representatives from over 50 organizations including United Way, American Red Cross, Gateway Domestic Violence Shelter, Northeast Georgia Health System are expected to participate, according to a news release.
