When you stop by the newly renovated Oconee County Chamber of Commerce building, you'll also be greeted by a new smiling face.

The Chamber announced in its newsletter Monday that Sarah Caven has been hired as manager.

Caven replaces Zoe Gattie, who in May accepted the position of executive assistant to Oconee County Schools Superintendent Dr. Jason Branch. Gattie had been with the Chamber for four and a half years.

According to Interim Chamber President Tom Odom, Caven grew up in Athens and is a graduate of the University of Georgia with a degree in Family and Consumer Sciences.

"Recently, she has worked in Atlanta as a Showroom Manager and Office Manager and brings a myriad of skills to this position," Odom wrote in the newsletter. "We believe she has all the skills to enhance the services we provide for all of our chamber membership."

Chamber members can meet Caven Thursday, June 20 from 8-9 a.m. at the Coffee, which will be hosted by Community Bank and Trust located at 455 Epps Bridge Parkway Suite 104.
