Meth and Cash Found Inside Oconee Home, Couple Charged

Oconee County Sheriff's deputies searched a trailer in Pinewood Estates South mobile home park Friday and seized methamphetamine, marijuana, digital scales, nearly $1,500 and a shotgun.

Two Pinewood Estates South mobile home park residents have been charged with intent to distribute methamphetamine after amounts of the drug, marijuana, digital scales, $1487 and a shotgun were seized on May 4.

Acting on information obtained from an investigation led by the narcotics' investigator, deputies confirmed information concerning a drug trade that was to take place at the residence in the park at 2060 Epps Bridge Road and a search warrant was obtained, according to a news release from the .

Harold Fair, 48, also known as Harold Capps, and Linda Cowart, 49, were each charged with one count of intent to distribute methamphetamine.  Fair also faces two counts of Violations of Georgia Controlled Substances Act for misdemeanor marijuana possession as well as possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, the release stated.  The Athens Banner-Herald reports the two are married and were arrested on May 8, four days following the search.

Fair and Cowart are being held at the Oconee County Jail awaiting a bond hearing, Chief Deputy Lee Weems told the newspaper.
