Four-Count Indictment Returned for Ex-Parapro

An Oconee County grand jury has handed down a four-count indictment against Jeremy Wetzel, 24, of Clotfelter Road, that includes two counts of child molestation and two counts of electronically furnishing obscene material to minors. The indictment was filed with the Oconee County Clerk of Superior Court on Feb 17.

The indictment alleges Wetzel sent two photographs of "a lewd display of male genitals" to the student's cell phone on Nov. 16, 2011.

, Wetzel, who worked as a substitute teacher prior to his employment as a paraprofessional, was immediately relieved of his duties in December 2011 and told to leave campus when alleged inappropriate actions were found to have merit.

Wetzel was arrested at his home on Dec. 7, 2011 and posted a $10,000 bond the following day.
