Chance of Thunderstorms Overnight

Showers and thunderstorms may bring hail and damaging winds Monday night and early Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service.

Update: A tornado watch is in effect for Oconee and other north Georgia counties through 3 a.m.

There is a possibility that thunderstorms will roll into Oconee and surrounding counties overnight.

The National Weather Service in Peachtree City has issued a hazardous weather outlookΒ  for the area that warns of hail, lightning, strong winds and isolated tornadoes associated with a chance of thunderstorms as a cold front moves in.

"Please be aware of rapidly changing weather conditions and take appropriate actions to stay safe," Mark Melvin, deputy director of the wrote in an email notification.
