Burglar Attempts to Steal ATM With Van, Cable – Norcross Patch

Gwinnett County Police believe a suspect or suspects attempted to steal the ATM inside a CVS pharmacy in the Norcross area by dragging it out with a cable attached to a van.

The store's front windows were broken, and police believe they were smashed with a hammer found near the glass. The Chase bank ATM was behind the glass in the store, but the ATM sign donning the bank name was not attached.

The sign was located nearby with a steel cable wrapped around it, the report indicated. The other end of the cable was attached to an unoccupied, but running, van that was parked at the store's back entrance.

MARTA Installs Security Cameras on Buses – Buckhead Patch

Security cameras were installed on seven MARTA buses this week as part of the agency's effort to prevent crime on public transportation.

The MARTA board of directors approved the $17 million project in 2011 and all buses are expected to have cameras installed by June 2013.

The installations this week are part of a pilot program to test out the technology.

Each bus will have 11 cameras — three outside and eight inside.
