'A Huge Day' — Tripp Halstead is Back Home After Five Months in Hospital

Stacy Halstead, Tripp's mother, wrote on Facebook that the first morning home on Saturday was a success.

After five long months and multiple surgeries, Tripp Halstead, a Barrow County toddler seriously injured in October when a tree limb fell and struck him in the head, is back home, according to a post on the Facebook page where the family provides updates on his condition.

"I held my breath till we actually walked through the door at moms house. Tripp has been perfect. He slept the whole way home. Then woke up when we got here," Stacy Halstead, Tripp's mother, wrote in an update on Friday, March 29.

Stacy Halstead wrote this update about noon Saturday.

First morning is a success!! Tripp is doing great. The nurse and Tripp's Nana gave him a bath. Got that crazy hair washed. I am thankful he had a good night and having a great day. His numbers have stayed stable all day. So happy to have him home!!!!!!!! Thank you for the prayers!!! And always being so positive for me and for Tripp. Love you all."
