Oconee Rotary Club Recognizes Members’ Outstanding Service

Oconee Rotary Club's annual awards breakfast recognizes members' service to the community and the club, and welcomes new Club officers.

The Oconee Rotary Club recently held its annual awards breakfast to recognize members’ outstanding service to the community and the club.  The June 19 meeting also served as a ceremonial ending of the 2011-2012 fiscal year.

Rotarian of the Year honors went to longtime member Doug Weirauch, a local contractor who spearheaded the club’s 30th anniversary BBQ pavilion construction project at Oconee Veterans Park.

This year’s Rotary Four-Way Test Award recipient was Cindy Haddon.  This award is reserved for members who best demonstrate the “Ideals of Rotary,” exemplifying the Rotary Four-Way Test of Is it the truth?  Is it fair to all concerned?  Will it build good will and better friendships?  Will it be beneficial to all concerned?  Haddon, a marketing specialist with Walton EMC, will be president of Oconee Rotary in 2013-2014.
