Owners Derek and Kari Beth Chitwood hoped customers will feel special when they put on their very own PSP gear. As the first retailer of the Peach State Pride brand, the PSP store offers a variety of brightly colored clothing.

“Peach State Pride is a clothing store— It’s a brand.” Chitwood said. “It also means something. It represents the state of Georgia. The logo stands for whatever you feel about the state of Georgia.”

The store opened in Oconee County early May but has made its mark across counties.

“This is the only store. We have nearly fifty retail partners cross the sate that carry our products from Valdosta, Marietta, Atlanta to smaller town to Americus.”

For the Chitwoods, the new store opening helps to make the PSP ideal a feasible prospect.

“The store is working as a couple of different things,” Chitwood said.  “It is a retail store front but the primary function of it is to serve as our headquarters for Peach State Pride. Basically when I started Peach State Pride four years ago, I was running it out  of my house. There were boxes everywhere; my computer room, parent’s house, my bedroom— I had to more stuff of my bed every night before I went to sleep so this is our first HQ. It also acted as another step to building our brand. You can come and touch and feel our stuff its not just a website. It’s multifunctional.”
