New Burger Restaurant Coming to Oconee County

Construction of the building which will house Cook Out Fresh Hamburgers is underway on the corner of Jordan Drive and Epps Bridge Parkway.

Oconee County residents craving hamburgers, chicken sandwiches, barbecue and hot dogs will soon have another dining option.

Construction is underway on the corner of Epps Bridge Parkway and Jordan Drive at the future site of Cook Out Fresh Hamburgers.

Oconee County Observations reported that the county approved preliminary site plans for the restaurant in March

Cook Out, which originated in Greensboro, North Carolina, has been around for 23 years and has over 100 restaurants in North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia and Tennessee.

A spokeswoman in the company's corporate office Tuesday declined to say when the Oconee location is expected to open, but confirmed that it is one of three new Georgia restaurants.  The others are in Augusta and Statesboro.

According to Cook Out's website, the design of its restaurants features a double drive-thru and bright, neon signage.

The menu offers a variety of lunch and dinner options, including a Steak Style Burger, Mexi Hot Dog, and Cajun Chicken Sandwich.

The restaurant chain also boasts 40 flavors of milkshakes from staples like vanilla and strawberry to unique tastes such as Choco Cherry and Lemon Squeeze.
