Kohl's To Be Open 'Round the Clock Until Christmas

The retailer is making it easy for shoppers, a spokesperson says.

And you thought longer Black Friday hours by retailers were interesting.

Beginning Friday (Dec. 20), Kohl's, the national retailer with an outlet in Oconee, will be open around the clock leading up to Christmas.

According to media reports, the retailer will open at 6 a.m. Friday and stay open until 6 p.m. on Christmas Eve.

"The holiday season is an eventful time for families, and Kohl's is making it easy for shoppers to wrap up their last-minute gift giving," Michelle Gass, the retailer's chief customer officer, said in a release.

Other factors could also be at work. There are six fewer days between Thanksgiving and Christmas this year compared with 2012.

Also, Cyber Monday sales in 2013 were up 20 percent from last year, but "black weekend" sales were up a mere 1 percent, according to cnn.com. So Kohl's could be looking for a way to boost in-store sales.
