Construction of Addition to Oconee County Chamber Building Begins

The expansion will add about 1,200 square feet to the building on Nancy Drive.

Crews this week began laying the foundation for the addition to the Oconee County Chamber of Commerce's building on Nancy Drive.

Chamber Manager Zoe Gattie said the expansion will add about 1,200 square feet in the form of two stories.

The addition will house a third conference area and the Chamber president's office, she said, and a portion remain unfinished to use for storage.

The extra space will also allow for a larger conference room in the basement level, she said.

The Chamber has established a capital campaign to fund the renovation, which is expected to cost about $200,000, according to a letter posted on the Chamber's website by past Chairman Mack Guest.
