Bites Nearby: The Krimson Kafé

Each week we'll tell you about a nearby restaurant that serves up delicious food and focuses on eating local.

Every town needs a restaurant like the —a gathering place “where everybody knows your name.”

Owner Krimson Black has been serving up locally grown food since she opened her doors in 1998. At the Krimson Kafe, the focus on local extends beyond food to the support of area artists and the community.

The atmosphere is all about creativity, from the monthly exhibits of artwork on display to the “create your sandwich” menu option. Pick the meat, cheese, bread and toppings of your choice and your server will deliver it to your table. Or, you can order one of the imaginative sandwiches on the menu, from the “Mocha Bird” to the triple-decker PBJ with your choice of jelly. Also on the menu are homemade soups and salads made with the freshest of ingredients.
